So, who over there at the Times needed “convincing,” and of what?
Do you maybe mean “decisive”? “Compelling”? “Blowout”? “Overwhelming”? “Stunning”? “Landslide”?
Let me help you with this. “Obama wins [not "gets"] decisive victories in three states.”
