I hate Ike. Hurricane Adlai would never have pulled this crap.
The lights went out Sunday afternoon. I guess it had something to do with the 75 mph winds that tore limbs off our trees and shingles from our roof.
No lights means no water (well pumps need juice), so no showers, laundry, or flushing toilets (at least in the winter you can use melted snow). No way to clean anything or wash dishes.
No internet or TV. No microwave (or, as we know it, the food machine). Generator broken.
Power finally came back on this morning. That doesn’t, of course, mean it’s here to stay. Guess we’d better get the generator fixed before winter.
